The Enforcement Directorate arrested suspended Karnataka Public Service Commission chairman Shivashankarappa S. Sahukar and member B.V. Geetha on October 6 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The probe centres on alleged irregularities in the recruitment of 400 veterinary officers, with the agency alleging middlemen demanded ₹70–80 lakh per candidate, alongside question-paper leaks and tampered OMR sheets.

The ED has earlier arrested former examination controller Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar; the Karnataka High Court has separately ordered an SIT probe, currently stayed by the Supreme Court until October 12.

The case is the latest in a string of recruitment scandals to rock state public service commissions, eroding trust in the gateway to government jobs.
