ED has completed registration of nine auctioned Hyderabad properties in the Heera Group case; proceeds will go to genuine victims via the SFIO.

The Enforcement Directorate has completed the registration of nine properties worth Rs 103.26 crore in the Heera Group case in Hyderabad, moving the funds closer to defrauded investors under Supreme Court directions.

The properties were sold through an e-auction and include a luxury house in MLA Colony on Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills and six luxury flats in Shaikpet. The agency plans to transfer the proceeds to the Serious Fraud Investigation Office for disbursement to eligible victims in phases.

Heera Group companies allegedly collected more than Rs 5,978 crore from lakhs of people across India by promising annual returns of over 36 per cent, then defaulted. The ED has provisionally attached assets worth more than Rs 428 crore, and says more auctions will follow.
