Five sweet-shop licences are suspended and five shops shut in Hyderabad's latest food-safety drive, with samples still being tested.

Telangana's food safety task force has suspended five sweet-shop licences and shut five shops in its second Hyderabad drive this week, as festive-season checks tighten across the city.

The drive, reported from the agency's own social-media post on Wednesday evening, also sent notices to other outlets including Karachi Bakery, with 22 samples sent for testing and results still awaited.

Officials advised buyers to check FSSAI numbers, read labels, pick shops with covered displays and keep bills, with complaints routed through the Food Safety Connect portal.
