HMWSSB is finalising its Dial-a-Green Tanker service for November 1, with online booking and GPS tracking of tankers supplying treated water to non-drinking users.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board is preparing to launch its Green Water Tanker service on November 1, supplying treated sewage water to builders, industries, parks and landscaping projects instead of drinking water.

A dedicated digital platform is being built for online booking, GPS tracking, digital payments and delivery confirmation, with e-PoS machines at filling stations. Private STP owners have until October 25 to register their plants online.

The board has set an initial target of supplying 100 million litres per day of treated wastewater for non-drinking purposes, as El Niño concerns pressure the Singur and Manjeera reservoirs.
