Ishan Kishan will miss Tuesday's third T20I against New Zealand in Wellington after failing to regain full fitness from the low-grade right adductor strain picked up in the series opener. Kumar Kushagra stays with the squad as cover while India, leading the five-match series 2–0, look to seal it at Wellington.

Kishan had already missed the second T20I with the same injury, with 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stepping in and Kumar Kushagra retained as squad cover.

India's squad for Wellington is led by Shreyas Iyer, with Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma among the batting options.
