PM Modi spotlights IIT Madras deep-tech start-ups, from gold verification to AI cancer screening, on 'Mann Ki Baat'.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted the innovative work of young entrepreneurs and researchers at IIT Madras, saying the country's youth were developing advanced solutions across financial security, healthcare, defence and transportation.

Speaking on the 139th episode of 'Mann Ki Baat', he cited start-ups working on gold-quality verification, faster recovery of money lost in bank fraud, AI-assisted cervical cancer screening, a sea-skimming electric vehicle and fast-charging batteries for drones.

He also paid tribute to renowned Indian scientist Narinder Singh Kapany, widely known as the 'Father of Fibre Optics', ahead of his 100th birth anniversary on October 31.
