Nepal flash floods wipe out bridge over Budhi Gandaki; five missing

Floodwaters tore apart a bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River in Nepal's Gorkha district over the weekend. At least five people are missing and more than 80 have been rescued from dangerous currents, with downstream villages told to evacuate.
Dramatic video showed the bridge collapsing into the swollen river as monsoon-season rains battered the Himalayan nation.
It is Nepal's second deadly natural disaster in two months, after an August 26 glacier-collapse flood that killed more than 1,400 people — a grim reminder of the region's growing climate vulnerability.
