Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held an emergency meeting with security officials on Wednesday after an altercation on a FlyDubai flight led the plane to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.

The incident came during a tense week in the region: a tanker was struck by an unknown projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, and Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis have expanded attacks in the Red Sea.

Saudi crude exports nevertheless rose to 5.8 million barrels a day in September — the highest since February — as flows through the kingdom's East-West pipeline recovered faster than anticipated.
