West Indies avoided a 3-0 whitewash on Oct 3, chasing down India's 351 for 7 to win the third ODI at New Chandigarh by five wickets, with captain Shai Hope anchoring the chase with an unbeaten 162 off 143 balls.

Set 352 to win, West Indies steadied through a 109-run stand between Hope and Amir Jangoo (67) before Hope finished the job with 10 balls to spare, ending on 352 for 5.

India had rebuilt from 4 for 2 through Rohit Sharma's 92 and a 137-run stand with Ruturaj Gaikwad, before KL Rahul smashed a career-best unbeaten 129 — including 42 runs off the final 12 balls he faced — to lift India to 351 for 7.

India had already sealed the series with wins in the first two ODIs, including a record chase of 406 in Guwahati. Captain Shubman Gill admitted the hosts missed their first-choice bowlers, with Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel away on Asian Games duty.
