The University of Colorado Denver has received a Letter of Intent from the UGC to set up a degree-granting campus in Hyderabad, making it the first public American university to open a campus in India.

The university plans to admit its first batch in August 2027, initially offering programmes in business, computing, engineering and analytics.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been courting foreign universities as part of a push to make Hyderabad a global education hub.

If it delivers, the campus would mark a milestone in India's opening of higher education to foreign universities — and another feather in Hyderabad's cap.
