Delivery partners protested outside a Swiggy Instamart dark store in Hastinapuram late on Wednesday night, alleging they were being forced to deliver expired products and that their delivery IDs were blocked when they complained.

Acting on the complaint, food safety officials raided the store and found 14 expired items, including milk packets, paneer, ginger-garlic paste, fruit drinks and chakki atta.

The riders later filed a complaint at the LB Nagar Police Station, escalating a labour dispute into a food-safety case.

The episode has put quick-commerce dark stores under fresh scrutiny in the city, where the ten-minute-delivery race runs on vast, largely invisible warehouses.
