Jaishankar says terrorism cannot be justified as an instrument of statecraft, as India slams Pakistan at the UN.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said the use of terrorism as an instrument of statecraft is simply unacceptable, in remarks that also saw India slam Pakistan at the United Nations.

India told the UN that Pakistan's military remains the country's real rulers, in a sharp exchange on the world stage.

The remarks underline New Delhi's long-standing position that terrorism cannot be justified under any circumstances.
