Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the 138th episode of his Mann Ki Baat radio address on Sunday to revisit the surgical strikes of September 28–29, 2016, calling them a decisive response to terrorism; the tenth anniversary falls on Monday.

He said India follows a zero-tolerance policy on terror, citing the Balakot strikes and Operation Sindoor as further evidence, and contrasted the present approach with past eras of serial blasts — mentioning the September 13, 2008 Delhi blasts and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

The Prime Minister also paid tribute to the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States, noting that Indian lives were among those lost.
