Telangana Congress leaders marked the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavna Yatra at Charminar on October 19, invoking the former PM's message of communal harmony and attacking the BJP.
Telangana Congress leaders marked the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavna Yatra at Charminar in Hyderabad on October 19, recalling the former prime minister's message of communal harmony. State party president Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and senior leader Hanumantha Rao participated in the event.
The leaders used the occasion to criticise the BJP-led Centre over alleged religious divisions, with Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy asserting that changing political winds would make Rahul Gandhi the next prime minister. Hanumantha Rao recalled Rajiv Gandhi's call to love and respect people of all religions.
The Congress holds the Sadbhavna commemoration annually in memory of Rajiv Gandhi's 1990 Sadbhavna Yatra, which began at Charminar to promote Hindu-Muslim unity. The party said the yatra was a reminder that national strength comes from unity, not division.
